We specialize in design projects
that blend Mexican architectural traditions with contemporary influences.
Our focus on
hacienda-style interiors
has
been greatly influenced by
the elegant simplicity of
Mexico’s Spanish
Colonial haciendas.
Hacienda design style
offers
a tangible link to Mexico’s
past with an emphasis on
solid simplicity, the use of
natural materials, rich
architectural elements,
textures and artifacts.
Mexican Colonial antiques
and country objects are
intermingled with
contemporary notions of
art and comfort, maintaining
a balance between looking
back and forging ahead.
In addition to our residential
work, we have been involved
with numerous commercial
projects, including restaurants,
retail stores and resorts.
In Mexico, we spent two years working on the restoration
and design of an 18th century,
ex-cattle hacienda. (The project
is featured here, as well as
in our 5th book, Casa
Yucatan, pages 148—163). The project
has also appeared in numerous magazines including a 10-page feature
in Phoenix Home &
Garden, January 2001.
